Findlay police are investigating the theft of a van, trailer, and several off-road vehicles and bikes valued at over $90,000 from two north Findlay businesses on Friday morning, according to Lt. Robert Ring.

Police were called to investigate a breaking and entering complaint at American Power Sports, 3690 Speedway Drive, at 5:51 a.m. Friday. Employees reported that a company van was stolen, along with multiple all-terrain vehicles and motorcycles. During the course of the investigation, an enclosed box trailer was also found to have been stolen from the nearby lot at Affordable U-Store-It, 3420 Marathon Way.

Findlay police said that the trailer, along with the van, were used to transport the stolen ATVs and motorcycles, according to surveillance camera footage in the area.

The stolen van is a white 2011 Chevrolet Express van that had an Ohio license plate of PEG7920 at the time of the theft, police said.

The trailer is a silver 2018 CargoMate enclosed trailer, 7 feet by 16 feet, with an extra tall ceiling; the Ohio license plate on the trailer at the time of the theft was SWN1793.

Police said that nine people were involved in the theft, based on surveillance footage, and that the suspects were covered well enough to conceal any description. Police also said a dark-colored SUV, possibly a Cadillac Escalade, in the area at the time  appears to have been involved.

Two ATVs, two motorcycles, and three dirt bike style motorcycles were stolen, along with the van and trailer, police said. The total value of the vehicles stolen exceeds $90,000.00.
